Will of Ann WRATHELL of Lancaster 3 April 1817

I Ann Wrathell of Lancaster in the County of Lancaster Widow being somewhat indisposed but of sound mind memory and understanding praised be God for the same Do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say I give and bequeath to my Son Charles my Canal Boats with the Implements and Appurtenances belonging thereto Also the Sum of One Hundred Pounds part of the money at Interest in Mr. Parks Hands. I give and bequeath to my daughter Precilla my Mahogany Wardrobe, my best Feather Bed and two pair of best sheets, two Table Cloths and six Breakfast Cloths of my own spinning, my Gold Watch, six Silver Table Spoons with Mr. Wartons Crest, my Silver Cup, Gravy Spoon, Cream Jug and Silver mounted Horn and all my Wearing Apparel. I also give and bequeath to my said daughter the Sum of Six Hundred Pounds other part of the money in Mr. Parks hands to and for her own use All the residue of my Furniture Goods Chattels Money Securities for Money Outstanding Debts and other my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath to and equally between my said son and daughter share and share alike Subject nevertheless to the payment of my Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expences and I request and empower my good Friends Edward Batty of Lancaster and Captain John Thompson of Skerton to make out collect and get in all my Outstanding Book Accounts and money due to me and thereout discharge all my just Funeral and Testamentary Expences and the Expences of proving this My Will and see that the Residue of my effects be equally divided between my said Son and Daughter and lastly I appoint my said Son and Daughter and the said Edward Batty and John Thompson joint Executors of this my Will In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the third day of August in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventeen.
Signed sealed and published and declared by the said Ann Wrathell the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto set our names as Witnesses thereto

On the fourth day of February in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighteen This Will of Ann Wrathell late of Lancaster in the County of Lancaster and within the Archdeaconry of Richmond and in the Diocese of Chester Widow deceased who died on the 21st day of August 1817 was proved in common form and Prescilla Wrathell Spinster and Charles Wrathell Coal Merchant both of Lancaster, and John Thompson of Skerton, near Lancaster, Merchant three of the Executors within named were sworn well and faithfully to execute and perform the same and so forth power being reserved for Edward Batty of Lancaster ??????? and ???? and that according to the best of the Knowledge Information and Belief of the said Prescilla Wrathell, Charles Wrathell, and John Thompson the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of which the above named Ann Wrathell died possessed within the Archdeaconry of Richmond in the Diocese of Chaster, Excluding what the said Testatrix might have been possessed of or entitled to as a Trustee for any other person or persons and not beneficially and without deducting any Thing on Account of the Debts due and owing by and from the said Testatrix were under the Value of One thousand pounds.
