The HISTORY OF JAMES WRATHALL (written by Lois Wrathall Nicholson) states that "James was converted in England [in 1850], but waited until after his arrival in Utah to be baptized" and that "In June 1889, he went to England for one year on a Genealogical Mission. His second wife, Flora, accompanied him." The age (37) listed in the SS Wisconsin's records is correct for Flora, who was born in 1852, but it gives James' age as 39. This implies that James used something similar to a christening date for his age. However, we don't have any explanation for the discrepancy between Lois' departure date from America and James' return after 4 months.
