Will of Henry WRATHALL
26 December 1720

In ye name of God Amen. I Henry Wrathall Junior of Grissington in Craven in ye Diocese of Yorke yeoman; being of good & perfect memory thanks be to God, do revokeing all other wills make this my last Will and Testament in manner following viz. committing my body to the earth to be buried with such charges as my Executrix hereafter named shall think fitt & convenient; & I will that all such debts as I owe together with my funerall expence be first paid towards the discharging of which debts fully & truly(.?) I will devise and sett apart out of my estate Roberts Close, Ibottson Garth, Fflotter (?) Garth & house with all & every the appurtenances together with all my goods and chattells beasts horses sheep to be sold by my Executrix hereafter named or some of her agents for and towards ye paying off of all my said debts; Item I give to my eldest son William Wrathall to him his heirs & assignes for ever all my ancient estate which I have now already in possession of & which I had from my father to enter into and possess the same after he attains the age of twnty one years; Item I likewise hereby give and bequeath to my said eldest son William the Revertion of these my other lands & tennements & a third part of the Water Corn Mill which now my said faither Henry Wrathall enjoys & hath a life estate of after he attains ye age of 21 years if my said faither Henry Wrathall be then dead, but if not, then from & immediately after the death of my said faither to have and to hold all the aforesaid bequeathed premises with there appurtenances to my said son William Wrathall to his heirs & assigns for ever; Item I will that my said eldest son William shall pay to his sister Margrett out of ye said estate to him hereby bequeathed the sum of forty pounds when she attains the age of twenty four years if she so long lives; Item I will my said son William shall likewise pay to Margrett Robinson the daughter of Robt. Robinson the further sum of five pounds when she is twenty four years old; Item I give and bequeath to my two younger sons Stephen & Henry Wrathall all the rest of my houses lands tennements & premises which was formerly purchased by my Grandfaither Wm. Wrathall to be equally divided between them when Henry attains ye age of twenty one years but my will and mind is that Stephen shall possess & enjoy the whole former bequeathed after his age of twenty one years till his brother Henry attains the said age of twenty one years & then to be equally divided between them as aforesaid to have & to hold the said devided estate premises & appurtenances to the said Stephen & Henry Wrathall there heires & assigns for ever; Item I give to my youngest son named Lupton Wrathall out of the ancient estate the sum of seventy pounds when he the said Lupton attaineth the age of twenty one years to be paid by my eldest son Wm. Wrathall above said; and further my will and mind is that if any of my younger children die before there portions become due that then the parts or portions of such shall fall equall to my eldest son William and the rest of my children living when the said Lupton attaineth the age of 21 Years; Item I further give & bequeath to my loving wife Susan Wrathall the rest of my goods and chattells which may remain over and above after the paying of & discharging of my aforesaid debts & funerall expences & do hereby constitute & appoint my said loving wife Susan Wrathall to be my sole Executrix & to have the governance of my aforesaid children during there minority; In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seall the 26 day of December in the seventh year of the Reign of his Majesty King George anno Domini 1720
