In the name of God Amen. According to the computation of the Church of England I John Wraythall of Thorpe in the Parish of Burnsall and in the County of York an husbandman being of perfect memory and remembrance praises be to God do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker hoping that through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins, And as for my body to be buried in Christian burial in the Church or Churchyard of Burnsall at the discretion of my executor hereafter nominated, Item my will is that my debts shall be paid out of my goods and lands; I give and bequeath unto Ann my wife and my seven children the residue of my assets when my debts is paid equally to be divided among them when my youngest child is the age of fourteen years ; And if it happen that any of my children die before my youngest child be at this age of fourteen years , It is will that the residue of my assets shall be equally divided by my wife and those children that shall be living; And hereby I appoint Ann my wife Executrix of this my last will and testament revoking all other wills and testaments In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written in the sight and presence of --------
John Wraythall sealed signed published and declared in sight and presence of Thomas Mattock Robert Hardcastle Marmaduke Wraythall ( followed by a line in Latin giving the date 14 October 1690)
