Will of William WRATHALL of Grassington 20 January 1759

In the name of God Amen I William Wrathall of Grassington in the parish of Linton in the County of York Yeoman being sick but of sound disposing mind & memory blessed be almighty God for the same do make & publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say; First I give and bequeath unto my Wife Ann Wrathall the sum of sixteen pounds p. anum during her natural life to be paid her by my Son Henry Wrathall also I give and bequeath to my said wife the house wherein I now dwell together with the several dwellings adjoining the said house and all other appurtenances thereunto belonging now in the occupation of Jane Peat John Clark William Dickinson and George Lee to hold to her the said Ann Wrathall her heirs and assigns for ever also I give and devise my said wife during her natural life the garden at the lane head situate at Grassington aforesaid together with the house and all other appurtenances thereunto belonging now in the occupation of Luke Loft? to hold the said last mentioned house with the appurtenances unto the said Ann Wrathall and her assigns untill my son Stephen Wrathall attain the age of twenty one years all which said legacies above bequeathed and given to my said wife shall be in lieu of her dower or thirds and I also will and order that my said wife shall out of the issues and profits of the above mentioned legacies maintain and bring up my son Stephen Wrathall and my daughter Isabell untill they respectively attain their ages of twenty one years also I give and bequeath to my said son Stephen Wrathall his heirs and assigns two beasts gates or cattle gates in Grassington Old Pasture together with two hundred pounds when he shall attain the age of twenty one years also I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth two hundred pounds to be paid to her ???? months next after my decease also I give and bequeath to my daughter Isabell two hundred pounds when she shall attain the age of twenty one years and if it should happen that my said son Stephen and my daughter Isabell should or either of them should die before they attain their ages of twenty one years I will and order that the said legacy or legacies of him or her them so dying shall be equally divided amongst my then surviving children share and share alike all which said legacies or sums of money above bequeathed and given shall be paid by my said son Henry Wrathall out of my real estate and as for all the rest residue remainder of my estate not herein before by me disposed of situate within the township of Grassington or elsewhere I give and devise to my said son Henry Wrathall his heirs and assigns for ever and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Ann Wrathall and my son Henry Wrathall executors of this my Will hereby revoking all former wills by me made In Witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and fifty nine Wm. Wrathall, signed sealed published and declared by the above named William Wrathall to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the Testator and in the presence of each other Lupton Wrathall, Betty Keighley, Thos. Brown. This will passed the seal the 5th of June 1760
