WRATHALLS OF CAMBRIDGESHIRE AND CHESHIRE

CAMBRIDGESHIRE

Roy Wrathall of Cambridge has roots in Garstang, Lancashire. In 1997, he welcomed into the world his new son Stephen. He has put together a compendium of information at his home page: Roy's little corner of the web

We have also assembled a descendancy that shows Roy's links with other Wrathalls in Yorkshire, Lancashire, and South Africa. Click HERE to view it.

In 1997, Roy contacted Alan and Moyna Wrathall of Cambridge on possible links between their branches of the family tree:

I've just been speaking with Alan Wrathall of Cambridge. I asked him about the various "questions" we have.... He told me that after the war his brother was in New Zealand and looked in the phone book and found several Wrathalls. He made contact and found that they were descended from a Chandler called Stephen Wrathall who came from Yorkshire. Alan thinks his father was a cousin of my father though this has not been yet confirmed....
Roy moved to Mytholmroyd (west of Halifax, Yks.) in late 1998.

In 2003 and 2004, Denis Poole of Switzerland provided information on early Wrathalls in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. Click HERE to read Denis Poole's findings.

In May 2004, Simon Wrathall of Cambridge , who can be reached at simonjw_x(at)hotmail(dot)com , mentioned the following:
I just wanted to notify you that another generation can be added to the Suffolk Wrathalls family tree. I am Simon, younger brother of Helen Kenna, son of John Edward. Though formerly of Suffolk I now live near Cambridge - quite near to Alan and Moyna (my second cousin). Anyway, I am now the proud father of Evie Wrathall, born April 23rd 2004. So the name lives on.
Simon has some new information on
the line of John Wrathall of Hyde , including the Recollections of Edward Wrathall, b.1899 .

CHESHIRE

In 1997, Roy Wrathall recalled his brother talking about some Wrathalls from Cheshire - possibly Alan Wrathall (Cambridge) had an ancestor from there. In 1999, Helen Kenna of Suffolk mentioned that some of her great-uncles moved from Liverpool to Cheshire.
