On Monday (18 Aug 2003) I found the obituary of Mary Alice Woolley. I recognized her to be the granddaughter of our Grandfather's [James Leishman WRATHALL's] sister Mary Alice Wrathall Spry. .... It was a graveside service, so I thought I would go and see if I could find any thing out about the whereabouts of the Spry family. It turned out this service was all about the Woolleys and the Riches (Roland Woolley's families). I was the only Wrathall there. They acted like they had never heard of the Wrathalls or the Sprys. Anyway I got to meet a lot of nice people and learn a lot about an outstanding lady, our 2nd cousin.
It turned out the Mary Alice Spry was an attorney who graduated from the BYU J. Reuben Clark Law School, which both her wealthy parents supported with some kind of a grant, which has supplied scholarships to this Law School. She was a patron of Utah's Primary Children's Hospital and, besides many contributions to it, she left her entire estate to BYU's Law School and Primary Children's Hospital. She was also a big supporter of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She also paid the full support for 35 missionaries for the LDS Church. She was not an active member until late in her life. She died of a stroke while she was in the hospital in the L.A. Area where she lived. ... She was 84 years old.
