Stephen Wrathall & family.

Arrived in Van DiemensLand on the Rifleman April 2 1831 to Hobart Town as steerage passengers Mr Stephen Wrathall, Mrs Mary Ann Wrathall, Miss Mary Ann Wrathall, Stephen, Charlotte Susan, Henry, Richard, John, Mary Anne & Lupton. Note the shipping records seem to indicate Lupton as Luckman

Sailed from London on the 20th Oct & departed from Cowes on 10 Nov 1830.

Stephen's brother William (a publican/hotel keeper by trade) was sent to Australia as a convict (sentenced to transportation for 7 years) aboard the convict ship Denmark Hill. William married Amelia (?) in Australia, and after she died, he married Elizabeth Rayner.

William Wrathall was the licensee of the Tasmanian Inn Campbell St, Hobart Town from 23 Sep 1851 to 2 Jan 1855 & of the Glasgow Wine Vaults, Elizabeth St, Hobart from 15 Jan 1856 to 6 Jan 1857

I would be very interested to hear from any of their descendants

John Wrathall Bull

I am also interested in the origins of the Wrathall Bull surname. I have information on a John Wrathall Bull who introduced a "comb & beaters" wheat harvesting mechanism around 1843.
The Wrathall Bull's are, I believe, descended from a Rev John Bull (b. 1777 in Cubley, Derbyshire, Eng.) and Elizabeth Wrathall. The information I have is summarised here.

I am grateful to several people for providing me with corrections and additions to the above information.
